Frequently Asked Questions
You've got questions. We've got answers.
What does this tool actually do?
It extracts the exact date and time a LinkedIn® post was originally published, using the post's URL. Paste the link, and you get the timestamp in both UTC and your local time zone.
Why would I need to know when a post was published?
Useful for benchmarking your own posting schedule, tracking competitor content cadence, or verifying when a viral post went live to reverse-engineer its timing.
Does this tool access my LinkedIn® account or login?
No. It works entirely from the public post URL. No login, no OAuth, no account connection required.
Is any data stored or sent to a server?
No. All processing happens in your browser. The post URL is not stored or transmitted to any third-party servers.
What format does the timestamp come out in?
You get the post's publication time in UTC and converted to your local time zone automatically.
Why does the time show in UTC? Can I change it?
UTC is the universal standard. The tool automatically converts it to your local time based on your browser's time zone setting, so you see both.
Does it work on all post types?
It works on standard text posts, article shares, and image posts. Some post types or very old posts may not return a timestamp if LinkedIn® doesn't expose it in the URL structure.
Is there a daily limit on how many posts I can check?
Free users have a daily limit. Install the free Reepl Chrome extension to bypass it and check as many posts as you need.
