Coach for LinkedIn's Top 1% personal brands

"LinkedIn is literally telling you how to write posts:\n\n""Write the entire post in the first 3 lines""\n\n(Yes, just like the 3 lines above → including spaces)\n\nWhy? Because LinkedIn's preview of posts is only 3 lines long. Ever noticed that? It's where Linkie shows the ""Read more"" button which then shows the entire post.\n\nThis is why I highly recommend you:\n\n1. Always write your hooks as one-liners\n2. Always preview posts with AuthoredUp \n3. Always ensure the first 3 lines say ""enough""\n\n(My recommendations after 5,000+ LinkedIn posts)\n\nOptimize for the hook? No. \n↳ Optimize for the ""Read more"" button.\n↳ This is the most important button on LinkedIn.\n\nTreat those first 3 lines seriously, ok? Cheers!\n\n(Repost if you learned something new ♻️)\n\nP.S. Do you always write hooks as 1-liners? My data shows a -20% drop when it's longer than 1 line."

"Stop trying to wing it in job interviews!\n\nAs a founder, I've seen talented people crash & burn at interviews.\n\nAmazing work from Shulin Lee.\n\nIt's frustrating to see… because it's 100% avoidable.\n\n8 Things Not To Say In A Job Interview\n(And what to say instead)\n\n❌ Don't Say: ""I want a great work-life balance.""\n🟢 Ask: ""What is expected of me to succeed here?""\n\n❌ Don't Say: ""No questions from me, thanks.""\n🟢 Ask: ""Can you tell me a bit about the team?""\n\n❌ Don't Say: ""My last boss was a real headache.""\n🟢 Say: ""I'd like a workplace that values communication and respect.""\n\n❌ Don't Say: ""I'm willing to do anything.""\n🟢 Say: ""I love [XYZ]. """Follow your passion"" is bad career advice.\n\nYou need more than just passion to succeed.\n\nPursuing a career based solely on passion,\nWithout considering market demand…\nIs dangerously bad advice to give.\n\nBy the same token, following just the money is also unwise.\nThat's not a purpose that will drive you long-term.\n\nSo what should you do?\n\nYou need to experiment a little bit:\n\n↳ You need to find out what you're good at.\n↳ You need to find out what you can get paid for.\n↳ But most importantly, you need to find out what you enjoy.\n\nIn this scenario, I can't recommend an Ikigai highly enough.\nIt essentially translates to ""a reason for being"".\n\nIt comprises 4 aspects:\n\n🫶 What you love (passion)\n✅ What you are good at (profession)\n🌍 What the world needs (mission)\n💰 What you can be paid for (vocation)\n\nIt is entirely achievable to find something that ticks all four.\nFind something that fits all four, and swim in that direction.\n\nDon't worry about not knowing what you want right now.\nPart of the fun is discovering what sparks your light.\n\nHave you tried an Ikigai before?\nI'd love to know, share below ⬇️\n\n♻️ Repost this to provide career guidance to your network.\nAnd follow Chris Donnelly for more.\n\n- - - - -\n\n📌 If you want a high-res PDF of this sheet:\n\n1. "Forcing your employees in 5 days a week is outdated.\n\nIt's time to trust your people.\n\nA few well-known companies have announced a return-to-office mandate.\nFor all 5 days a week, this feels like a failure to embrace a new era.\n\nWhen the pandemic hit, it forced us to rethink traditional workplaces.\nLeaders now have an opportunity to meet the needs of the workforce.\n\nPutting your team's needs first will:\n\n🤝 Earn their trust\n🙌 Increase motivation\n🐕 Create a sense of loyalty\n\nAfter all, some of your employees will have unique cases.\nThey need to pick up their kids or take care of an elderly parent.\n\nLeadership teams shouldn't get in the way of that.\n\nHowever, I do think there's some nuance to the broader topic.\nFor example, I ask my teams to come into the office ~2 days per week.\n\nBecause there are many benefits to working in-person.\nBenefits such as:\n\n1. Enhanced Communication 🗣️\n↳ Face-to-face interactions reduce misunderstandings.\n\n2. Team Collaboration 🧑‍🤝‍🧑\n↳ It's easier to collaborate without the delays of virtual communication.\n\n3. Faster Decision-Making 🏎️\n↳ Immediate access to colleagues can speed up decision-making processes.\n\n4. Stronger Company Culture 🍻\n↳ In-person work helps people build stronger relationships.\n\n5. Learning Through Observation 👓\n↳ Junior staff can learn by observing more experienced colleagues.\n\n6. Clearer Work-Life Boundaries 🏠\n↳ A physical workplace separates work from personal life.\n\nSome of these aspects get lost over Zoom.\nThere are some things that virtual work can't replace.\n\nIn-person work is a more surefire way\nof creating the culture you want to see.\n\nDo you agree or disagree?\nWould love to hear your thoughts ⬇️\n\n♻️ Repost this to continue the hybrid work conversation.\nAnd follow Chris Donnelly for more."
